Rain Out Procedures
For Coaches UseUpdated Monday May 1, 2017 by Kevin Drew.
In the event of a rain out or other unforeseen situations that requires a game to be rescheduled, the following procedures are to be followed:
The home field coach is to call the assigned umpire(s) to notify them of the cancellation. Contact info is on the Arbiter site. Calls should be made at least 45 minutes before game time. You should know the day before who your umpire is. Umpire in Chief (Lee Champagne) is to be called by the home field coach to notify him of the cancellation at least 45 minutes before game time. .
The two coaches have 10 calendar days to make up the cancelled game. It is recommended that the make up take place during the same game week (Monday to Sunday). A make up date is to be decided within 48 hours of the originally scheduled game time. Note that the league web page has all games posted so that field availability can be reviewed.
If the two coaches cannot agree to a date, then the commissioner (Bill Jones) shall assign a date after the 48 hours. If a team(s) does not arrive to play on that date, then the team(s) shall forfeit that game.
Once a date has been established, the home team coach shall call the Umpire in Chief so that an umpire can be assigned. The Umpire in Chief schedules all umpiring assignments.
The league website administrator (Kevin Drew) is to be called or e-mailed with the changes so that the schedule can be updated for all players, coaches, and public.
